Then this happened…pontoon problems

by Meghan Klave Filed Under: resort life

I mean I suppose there could be worse things than a mostly free pontoon boat being destroyed by a fallen tree, but Bob really put a lot of time into this monster. I know a few of you were able to enjoy it at least…then this happened…our pontoon problems.

So we’re putting our heads together to determine if there’s anything worth saving and possibly some creative ideas on how to continue to use it.

Bob mentioned taking all the rails off, make it like an extension to the dock so fishermen, fisher-women and fisher-kids can enjoy another area to cast their line.

Another thought – maybe use it as a swimming platform, but it would need to be driven out every time someone would want to use it. This thing is too big to anchor out all summer.

Then I suppose we could put some money back into it and make it usable for it’s original intended use. I’m not sure about that though.

Just sucks for all the time he put into it. For a little reminiscing…

Oh the sad tears…

Happier times. My mom with Kylee and Brayden in the background.

Anybody got any ideas? We’d love some feedback…or your sympathy…lol Poor Pontoony – he was just coming back to life.

Sorry about your pontoon boat. Would homeowners insurance cover it since it was caused by a fallen tree? We know Bob sure did a lot of work on it & she was really shining. Even if it’s not fixed think of how happy she was during her last summer as a pontoon!
Happy Thanksgiving! We are thankful for you & the resort!

omg So sorry to see these pics! After all the time, money, and hard work Bob put into restoring it. I felt privileged to go out on the maiden voyage of “Pontoony”. I had hoped for another tour of the lake next summer.

We’ll have to see what next year will bring, Veronica. You know Harold and Bob are thinking up what’s next for the ol’ girl, haha. We were so glad you and Ron were able to enjoy her – if not for just once 🙂 Thanks for following along on the blog and we’ll see you guys next year!
